Mexico returns to the Georgia Dome on March 5, an international FIFA date. Mexico's three all-time appearances in Atlanta averaged 52,000 fans per game. The venue last hosted a Tricolor game in July 2013 as part of CONCACAF's Gold Cup quarterfinal double header, defeating Trinidad & Tobago 1-0 in front of a record 54,229 fans. The Georgia Dome, one of the largest indoor sporting facilities in the United States, is the primary home of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons.
Mexico and Nigeria have met four times with a 1-0-3 record in favor of Mexico. The two teams last met in May of 2013 as part of Mexico's U.S. tour, with the match ending in a 2-2 tie at Reliant Stadium in Houston. Nigeria will travel to Brazil in June to participate in the FIFA World Cup where they will face Argentina, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iran in Group F.
